Our Story

How it all started...

In 1965, Pastor Chuck Smith began his ministry at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa with just 25 people. From the beginning, Pastor Chuck welcomed all, young and old, without judgment, placing his emphasis on the teaching of the Word of God. His simple, yet sound, biblical approach drew 25,000 people weekly.

With a sincere concern for the lost, Pastor Chuck made room in his heart and his home for a generation of hippies and surfers, generating a movement of the Holy Spirit that spread from the West Coast to the East Coast, and now, throughout the world. What began as a small local church has now grown into an international ministry of over 1,800 fellowships throughout the world.

Expanding the vision...

Calvary Life has the same heart  to meet people where they are and help them make a connection with God and Grow in their relationship with Jesus.  Taking steps of faith with the heart to leave the 99 and  to go after the one has taken us from house to house, to backyards, to parks, to diners and who knows where else the Spirit would lead, but we are listening.

Where we are headed...

We keep it simple, but because it is based on the Spirits leading and the Word of God it is powerful.  We will continue to teach through the Whole Bible; book by book, verse by verse all of Gods Word; raising up men and women to take the Living Word of God to the people that God puts in their path.  We will thrive in life together especially during the struggles because we rely on God and are there for one another.

You are welcome to join us on this adventure of faith if you would you like to be apart of a church family that isn't perfect but that relies on the ONE who is perfect, Jesus.  A church family that will love you and fellowship with you through thick and thin?   You are Welcome here...
